<<this page is a work in progress (last update - July 12, 2020) - check back for more resources soon!>>

In this new era of school closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are all feeling our way forward into new ways of living. Here are the resources we have created for our families at Sacred Heart Montessori, and also made available to anyone who might find them useful:

Goals for Home Learning (read full version here)

1) Your family is safe, healthy, and strong
2) Your child is engaged with exploring and learning
3) Your child learns and practices new academic skills

Resources for caregivers to provide academic enrichment at home:

Language:

Vocab games
Phonemic awareness
Teaching Letter sounds
Movable Alphabet
Handwriting
Reading

Math:

sorting and sequencing activities
teaching 1-10
All Sacred Heart students can continue to use IXL over the summer for online skill practice

Learning & Exploring

To help with Goal 2 - keep curiosity and love of learning (and also keeping the connection with our students), we've had a weekly theme and a daily connection video. Here are some of the themes from the spring we are sharing as ideas for summer enrichment:

  • Explore the kitchen
  • Explore outdoors
  • Our wonderful world
  • South America
  • Birds
  • Africa
  • Bugs & Insects
  • Plants
  • Let's go to the beach! (and learn about oceans and the islands of Oceania)
